O título “Barão do Hospital” foi atribuído a um dos proprietários da Quinta do Hospital. Acredita-se que as terras onde se situa a Quinta foram doadas pela mãe de D. Afonso Henriques – a Condessa Dona Teresa de Leão – à Ordem do Hospital. Na Idade Média os Hospitais eram destinados a acolher e dar hospitalidade a viajantes.

Desenhamos um percurso de sinalética simples e funcional que conta a história desta icónica quinta do Minho. O percurso criado guia-nos entre o solar e as vinhas, num ambiente verdadeiramente mágico e vai revelando os diferentes pontos de interesse como as fontes, o pombal e um até espigueiro de dimensões originais e estado de conservação únicos.

O desafio esteve em criar suportes minimais e harmonizados com o espaço, sem que se sobrepusessem à beleza natural dos diferentes cenários.

The title “Baron of the Hospital” was given to one of the owners of Quinta do Hospital. It is thought that the land on which the estate stands was donated by Afonso Henriques’s mother – Countess Teresa of León – to the Order of the Hospital. In the Middle Ages, Hospitals were used to welcome and provide hospitality to travelers.

A simple and functional signage route was designed and tells the story of this iconic Minho estate. The route created guides us between the mansion and the vineyards in a truly magical setting, and unveils the different points of interest, such as the fountains, the dove cote and even a granary of unique original dimensions and state of conservation.

The challenge was to create minimal supports that harmonized with the space, without overpowering the natural beauty of the different settings.
